BioMimics 3D®

Inspired by nature, developed by Veryan: BioMimics 3D® uses the principle of biomimicry to optimize the performance of vascular stents. It stands out with a unique 3D helical geometry. 

Design
  • peripheral self-expanding stent with 3D helical center line
  • laser cut from a straight nitinol tube
  • 3D helical shape stored in the nitinol shape memory
  • 3 tantalum radiopaque markers located at each end of the stent to aid placement 
 
Indication The BioMimics® 3D vascular stent system is indicated to improve luminal diameter in the treatment of symptomatic de-novo or restenotic lesions in native superficial femoral and/or proximal popliteal arteries. Reference vessel diameters ranging from 3.5 to 7.0 mm.  
 
Benefits
  • swirling flow: patency is protected by increased wall shear stress, which reduces intimal hyperplasia
  • improved biomechanical performance: stented femoropopliteal vessel shortens more naturally under compressive load applied during knee and hip flexion
  • excellent fracture resistance: femoropopliteal arterial shortening during knee bending is accommodated by distributing the compressive strain across the entire stent
